Porsche Keep Your Essence

This year Porsche released their first fully electric car and to celebrate we partnered with Boston Magazine and created a fully illustrated booth and a coloring book contest for kids and the winner will have their own space during the event.

I was put in charge of illustration and the build from start to finish including a Boston themed backdrop illustration, 3d elements to help further the scene, a companion coloring book and a full illustrated car wrap for the event. I was so excited to get to head this project and I am pleased with our end product.

First up, the car wrap

I think the car wrap was the most complicated by far. I had to take spec drawings of the Macan and stripped down the excess and added in hints that help round out the car for the 3d space, finding that balance of was complex but it was achieved. I had to work closely with the production team to be sure each line was perfect on all seams and windows but in the end we nailed it.

Everything 3D

For the coloring book theme I went with a full black and white outline motif and illustrated and designed the backdrop and 3d foreground and floor elements. Some elements included items you’d find on the street like street lamps, 3d signage, bikes and plants. In addition to standing items, I designed out a vinyl street complete with manhole and sidewalk.

The coloring book

The coloring book doubled as an homage to Boston icons and as the coloring contest it self. The book opens with the template and rules for kids to use their imagination and draw what they feel like is “Their Essence”. Be that a sense of adventure, a love for learning or their personal creative spark. The rest of the book is filled with illustrations that I put together, specifically Boston like the duck boat tours and statues, gan favorite teams and the iconic stadium and mascot.
